Hello guys,
I have been a sky+hd customer since 2014.
I have the 2tb Jet Black box " DRX 895 " connected to my recently Sky Ultrafast Fiber broadband, which my sky+ box is connected to my Sony Bravia XR-55A95L
Last year, i have gotten a letter from sky, telling me that i can upgrade to Q for free, held it off for a while since i was still enjoying my sky+ box. I was previously considering about it in 2022.
Well that time has come and i have decided to upgrade.
I am just concerned about:
Thats all im thinking about upgrading to sky q. Cost isnt a worry for me, i can buy more miniboxes and 4k subscription, i just want the best entertainment experience for my buck. Even if it means i have to switch boxes
Thank you

- What will happen to my Sky store purchases? You won't have lost them.
- What will happen to my packages? Will i still be able to watch my sky sports, sky kids and sky cinema? Yes, providing you still subscribe to them when ordering Sky Q
- What will happen to my recordings and series links? You will lose those
- What will happen to my dish? If it's still in good condition the engineer will just change the LNB on it in order to receive transmission to the Sky Q box. He/she may even change it if it's seen better days
- What will happen to my Sky+ Multiscreen boxes? Can i also get them to sky q multiscreen boxes? You will be able to order more mini boxes to replace the additional Sky+ boxes you may have. You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a third mini box if the first one in use is being used for a streaming app ie: Netflix or DIsney+.
All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.Thats all im thinking about upgrading to sky q. Cost isnt a worry for me, i can buy more miniboxes As stated above the sky Q box and any mini boxes are loaned to you and must be returned when you cancel your subscription.
I will cc in @nigea99 who has compiled a help guide for customers thinking of switching.

Sky Q mini boxes do not support UHD... the only way to get UHD on all your UHD TVs with Sky is with Sky Stream using Sky Pucks😉

As mentioned by @Daniel0210 , who has answered your specific queries, you may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
Any further questions do not hesitate to ask
P.S. You may get a UHD capable box as part of a free upgrade but to be sur eof an HDR capable one you probably willcharged extra & note if you are used to a 2TB you may find 2TB boxes specifically will be extra and may be thin on the ground - if you do go for a 2TB make sure you stress you want an HDR capable one (assuming you are likely to ever want one) as the 1st generation were UHD but not HDR
