Connecting new sky + hd remote

Hi

After 6 years, my sky plus HD remote finally broke. I got a new one today but can't connect it to either my Samsung TV or sky plus HD box. Also I can't access the main sky homescreen without a working remote. How do I fix both issues please?

There's no setting up required for a Sky+HD remote to control a Sky+HD box. Just make sure the batteries are inserted the right way round, press the 'Sky' button and it should be ok.

To control your TV, you need to programme your remote with the right code for your model of Samsung tv. Instructions and a link to the remote code finder here: https://www.sky.com/help/program-your-remote

I'm currently waiting youtu.be on samsung TV but pressed all buttons on sky plus remote and though the red remote light works its not turning on sky or home screen.

Have you tried restarting your Sky box? Turn it off at the plug for 4 minutes.
