I have now contacted SKY customer service as my SkyGo also stopped allowing downloads.

They told me that they are now stopping SKY+ HD customers from accesssing this feature on SkyGo and on their tvs as a way to push them to swap to SkyQ.

 

I called a second time and was told the same by a different advisor.

 

Its rolling out so will be coming to you soon !

I'll only believe it when there's more than just you reporting this problem.

It helps to verify such things: while we know Sky is certainly seeking to migrate the remaining users of Sky+ HD to a current platform, we've had no indication they are withdrawing data transfer into Sky Go.

I have just found this subject about not being able to download programs from the catch up service .. I noticed the replies were dated early in 2025 .. I have just found I have the same issue .. I get the R for record showing and SHEDULED appears but no download happens .. yet I am convinced this function was working until very recently .. can someone update me on the current situation please

No reports of it not working here, my mum downloads all the time and I'd be the first to know if she had issues 🙂

You could try a planner rebuild:

 

Press Services on your remote

Select Help

Select Sky+ Rebuild

Sky have told me they no longer support this download function on Sky+HD boxes in order to save time and push customers to swap to Sky Q. Bloody annoying.

I assume you mean they no longer provide help when you have problems with catch up and On Demand.

 

The Catch Up and On Demand services themselves continue to work normally.

I assume you mean they no longer provide help when you have problems with catch up and On Demand.

 

The Catch Up and On Demand services themselves continue to work normally.


And, Viewer Relations also help where the issue is with particular content (they have Sky+HD boxes to test reported faults on). 

Where they no longer offer support is when the issue is at the customers end, with either the box or the internet connection between box and router.

You might have misunderstood what they said because I can assure you that you can still download on a Sky+box as I have done this a few times over the last few days. What they don't do is to arrange an engineer call out if the box needs looking at for any sort of issue.

I have two boxes in two different houses and both stopped downloading on the same day...so not a local issue. Maybe you will get cut off next or your box model will be next.

.... well congrats if yours works I'm just sharing my experience and what they have told me ( two different people) on the phone.

Needless to say I'm in the process of leaving so don't waste your time on this topic.
