Adding additional viewing card and Sky hd box to existing account

Good Evening  - Hi Community, can you help ? I currently have 3 x Sky + HD boxes and viewing cards in 3 rooms at home.

New house extension means I'd like to add a fourth Sky + HD box ( already have) and viewing card ( don't have  !).

Is it as simple as contacting Sky for card number 4 ? Or is there a limit ? I'm old school, dont want to change setup with Multiroom or Glass - happy with boxes and cards and hdmi leads !!!

Thanks in advance, Kevin

It is unlikely Sky will supply you with another viewing card as they will insist you upgrade everything to Sky Q but there is no harm in trying to see what they say.

Re: Adding additional viewing card and Sky hd box to existing account

Hi,

Thanks for quick reply !

Was thinking that already...will try all the tricks whilst on the phone  , you never know !!!

My existing setup works great for me. Yes it's a bit clunky with separate viewing box, separate box for wifi/network etc.

I dont want to talk to the remote to change channel, just push the button !!

Yes it's an old setup..I knew that when Sky engineer fitted the dish and phoned to say he was running 30 mins late as previous customer, someone called " NOAH" kept getting No Signal due to animals ???!!!!

Thanks again..Kev

I have the same set up and unfortunately you can't add a fourth viewing card.

When I tried this a few years ago, the sales assistant tried to persuade me to take out a Sky Q subscription.

There are other options though.

You could add a Now subscription, which would be quite expensive, or you could use an Apple TV box with the TV launcher app in conjunction with Sky Go.

P.S. You could also use an HDMI modulator, which would connect to one Sky box but put Sky on every TV, provided it's HD capable.

@Kevin911Fire For what it's worth, if you currently have 3 Sky+ Multiscreen subscriptions for your setup, you would save quite a lot of money switching to Sky Q.

I say that, though, as someone who is equally reluctant to switch as Sky+HD just works.

Staying on Sky+HD

Urgent Notice for Sky+ users: as of 29th October 2024 you will no longer be able to pair your viewing card to a Sky+/Sky+HD box that the card is not already paired to, so if your Sky box breaks you cannot replace it and you’ll need to move to either Sky Q, Sky Glass or Sky Stream to access Sky content

Do you want to use all 4 TVs at the same time and watch different broadcast channels at the same time?

NOWTV on the Fourth TV would cost less than Sky+ HD multiroom for the Fourth TV, it is easy to get deals on NOWTV e.g. £4.99 for entertainment with kids channels and £1.99 for boost. Other broadcast channels can be received using the Broadcaster's apps or Sky+ HD without a card😉

Did you manage to get an extra card?
