Access to free channels
Hi, once I have cancelled Sky HD ( I have a multiroom box as well) do I still gain access to the free channels on both boxes? I know I am unable to record/pause etc unless I subscribe. Thanks

Re: Access to free channels
That is correct, you will be able to view the free channels but once cancelled you will not be able to change your mind as reinstate the pay channels as you would have to upgrade to Sky Q at the very least.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

Re: Access to free channels
thank you. Is there a cheap option (have heard mention of something called Sky Essentials) to be able to pause record those free channels? I know I can buy a Freesat recorder but wondered if using the existing guide with ability to pause /record may prove useful

hi @welly23
There used to be (although I don;t think it was called Essentials for SKY HD) but I don't think it is available any more as SKY are trying to wind down SKY HD and move everyone to SKY Q or Glass/Stream
By all means call and ask but be prepared for them to push Glass/Stream and maybe Q

Re: Access to free channels
thank you nigea99
We will see what happens when the time comes at end of contract. I know the Sky Q may be the better option but in our house the separate planners of Sky HD works better. We dont like the shared planner of Q

Yes we know that this can be a problem for SKY HD multiroom customers switching over.
You have probably seen this but in case you haven't, I made some notes for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
