1 of our Sky + box has died

I have read that you can no longer paid a card if change box but surely if got 2 multi rooms plus main box and 1 box dies that should be able to  put my card in a new box which I have to continue watching what I am paying for..

It just seems logical that one can do this.

I get the point if you only have one viewing box/card then they can tell you to upgrade but if happy waith Sky+ and got 2 other working boxes then surely can pair to a working box.

Any help before I call Sky

If one if your Sky + boxes has died tnen you have we two options, either cancel the box and your multiscreen sub or upgrade to Sky Q because you are not going to be able to use the viewing card in a replacement box.

@scruffybear

Afraid not. What you've read is correct. Sky+, being a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky.

You can't now pair a viewing card to any other Sky+ box that it wasn't paired to at the end of October 2024.

@scruffybear if it's any use, you can still use a replacement Multiscreen box to receive the free to air channels. You won't be able to record, or watch your subscribed channels, but it might at least be something

Re: 1 of our Sky + box has died

Thanks for reply but that defeats the purpose if I want and pay for full sky in 3 rooms but can only watch basic in one.

If 2 boxes are fine and one can be replaced , in these circumstances i would have thought they would let me repair the working card

Re: 1 of our Sky + box has died

Thanks for reply, I just find it strange that they would want me to throw away 2 working boxes, change to new system when happy with what I am paying for.

Thanks

@scruffybear

As we have stated, not to any box it wasn't paired to back in October.

@scruffybear you could give Sky a call and see what they say, but I'm doubtful that they'll change their policy - which appears to be based on their aim to reduce the number of customers on a legacy platform.

Perhaps worth considering that Sky Q is now approaching its tenth anniversary....
