Scouting for Girls: Fashions Darkest Secret

The Matrix Resurrections

The cast use the flexibility of fantasy to perform like a well conducted orchestra. Jessica Yu-Li Henwick stars in her breakout role as Bugs, who searches for Neo within the Matrix. Trained in wushu, her performance stands out amongst the already stellar cast, and director Lana Wachowski does not shy away from highlighting the larger-than-life nature of her work.

 

 

Last Night in Soho

  • Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, finds that she is able to mysteriously enter the 1960s, where she encounters the glamourous wannabe singer, Sandi. This is Edgar Wright's first film with female protagonists, inspired by his mother's love of the Swinging Sixties and his fascination with the darker side of London's Soho. In collaboration with Scottish screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns, Last Night in Soho became the enchanting dark fairy tale that was widely well recieved.

Venus and Serena Williams were executive producers for this film, citing that the creative choice to focus on the story of their father was, "a great opportunity to see how amazing African-American fathers are." The navigation through race, sport and family tension becomes the key to this film, reveals a different shade of fatherhood that is rarely seen in modern cinema.

 

Last Seen Alive

  • Gerard Butler stars as Will Spann, a man who drives his soon-to-be ex-wife to her parents house when she mysteriously disappears.
  • Of course, like any decent thriller, his search for missing Lisa doesn't go entirely to plan. Cue criminal gangs, explosive cannisters and action so thrilling you'll be clinging to the edge of your seat. Can Will prove his innocence, find his wife and save his marriage? If you're into addictive thrills, high-speed car chases and Gerard Butler's bushy beard, this is the movie for you. It is also director Brian Goodman's third feature film. His previous works include Black Butterfly (2017) and What Doesn't Kill You (2008).
