During the colder months, weather can take a turn... Think storms, snow, or heavy rain. It can sometimes affect your Sky services, home tech and devices. Here’s a quick guide to help you stay safe, protect your devices, and know what to do if something goes wrong.
🌩 ️Should I expect signal disruptions during bad weather?
Yes! Heavy rain, snow, wind, or thunderstorms can interfere with satellite signals, causing temporary loss of TV service. If this happens, don’t panic, wait for the weather to clear and check if the signal returns on its own.
Check your satellite dish:
If your satellite TV isn’t working after the storm has passed, inspect your dish (if safe to do so). It may have shifted or become obstructed by debris or snow. Satellite dishes can be moved out of alignment by the wind. With satellite reception, even a small amount of movement can affect the signal.
(Please note: Avoid climbing or adjusting the dish yourself, contact your provider for professional support.)

Can my broadband be affected too?
Yes! Broadband connections can also slow down or drop during extreme weather, especially if you're using copper-based services.
What should I do? After the storm passes, if your broadband or TV service is still down, try restarting your router or set-top box. This can often resolve lingering issues.
Quick Tip: If your Wi-Fi is struggling, try switching to mobile data temporarily or move closer to your router to improve signal strength.
