SyFy channel re-brands to Sky Sci-Fi on July 26th!

 

The iconic landmark of science fiction and fantasy, SyFy, is soon to re-brand. But it's not just the logo that gets a sweet upgrade, it's the content as well!

 

 

What's new?

 

We've opened the flood gates, deep cleaned the cellar and donned our tin-foil hats. This channel will have it all. 

 

While, of course, keeping the sci-fi classics you know and love.

The eagerly-awaited release of SurrealEstate is being beamed down to UK screens for the very first time on launch week. If you're not familiar with SurrealEstate, you are in for a world of entertainment. It's a Canadian paranormal drama series about real estate agent Luke Roman handling cases that no one else can: haunted houses that literally scare buyers away. Featuring cast members Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek), this series has earned reviews like:

 

 

"Inspired concept, script, wardrobe and pulp comedy pop-corn light horror."

Another biting series, completely new to the channel and set to air in launch month, is Day of The Dead. This series, inspired by George. A Romero's horror classic stars Keenan Tracey and Natalie Malaika as two of six strangers strruggling to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion. Pull. Up. A. Chair. Reviews applaud the 80's throwback style:

 

 

It's Cheese-tastic. I love every bit of it. I'm an extreme zombie fan and appreciate everything about it.

 

 

Will I still get Star Trek?

 

Of course! Fiction fans will still be able to find their favourite shows on the channel, with Star Trek, Stargate and Quantum Leap named as just a few of the many titles available for avid sci-fi watchers. What’s more, box-set bingers will be able to feast their eyes on new classic series soon to be revealed, with endless episodes to enjoy.

 

At launch, Sky Sci-Fi will offer a selection of Premiere TV movie titles such as Bullet Train Down, Thor: God of Thunder and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The channel has also acquired Stephen King’s sought-after mini-series: IT and Salem’s Lot.

 

The channel will be linear (152) and on demand, offering hundreds of hours of pure sci-fi, fantasy and supernatural horror and superheroes – the full breadth of content dedicated to the genre will be available on Sky Sci-Fi and streaming service NOW.
