Sky Sports+ launching in August

Launching this August, Sky Sports+ will transform the amount of choice sports fans have, all at no extra cost. Sky Sports+ is more than a new app. It gives us the capability to show up to 100 live events concurrently via live streams, a new dedicated channel and our revamped app for TV and Mobile.

Integrated into your Sky TV, streaming service NOW, and revamped Sky Sports mobile app, Sky Sports+ will make it easier for fans to browse, discover and watch the sport they love. With more coverage than ever before from the EFL, both tennis Tours and men’s Super League, Sky Sports customers can enjoy over 50% more live sport this year.

The scale of Sky Sports+ will be on full display on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season, with every game from across all three divisions - the Championship, League One and League Two - streamed live, making it a first in broadcasting history.

That includes:

  • Your favourite EFL team live on Sky Sports at least 20 times a season.

  • Over 1,000 EFL matches, including every Carabao Cup game.

  • Incredible tennis from 100 tournaments across the US Open, WTA and ATP tours.

  • Every match from the Men’s Super League.

Once Sky Sports+ goes live, customers with a full Sky Sports subscription won’t need to do a thing; Sky Sports+ will simply drop into your existing Sky experience, across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW.

The recently revamped Sky Sports app will also become the ultimate home of sports streaming. New personalisation features will help fans follow their favourite teams and competitions more easily and an improved multi-sports scores section will offer fixtures, live scores and an extended view beyond the usual seven-day football calendar.

Please note: Only customers with the complete Sky Sports pack will get access to Sky Sports+ at no extra cost. Anybody with individual sports packs will need to upgrade.

Will this be available in UHD ?

Will I need to do anything with a Sky+HD box?

So what you're saying is, if you have no interest in second division football, tennis or rugby league, you can safely ignore this announcement?

Oh, and the bleddy advert that's on constantly that says 'Sky sports just got better' is a total lie.

Even if you're interested in SS+, it doesn't launch for over three months.

So, are you going to make this available to Virgin Media customers?

There WILL be a cost believe me!

Sky wouldn't sign to any agreement with the EFL without it meaning WE ARE going to be paying for it sooner or later. It's a marketing exercise to promote Sky as a brand, remind people what they are missing., or will be getting if you are already a customer.

There is no option for Sky +HD existing to get this channel, they want you to move to Sky Glass etc

All about the promotion of the upgrade again with Sky, not about any support for existing, long term, customers or platforms. Get customers over to the latest tech so they can close down the satellite dishes in the future and stream everything.....if you haven't already guessed it, it won't be for me ha ha!

@FootPH1 Sky Sports subscribers on Virgin Media and other TV platforms won't miss out, the extra coverage will be available to them too!

I would like to know about the sky sports+ as I have sky sports in my package please let me know when it's goes live in August

I don't know why they screen EFL matches, after all, most of the EFL teams can't even fill their own stadiums, so why does Sky think that people living miles away would be interested?  I've known fans in Liverpool who have waited years to get a season ticket.  If the top PL teams could bolt an additional 20k seats to their stadiums overnight they could still fill them on match day and have people queuing up outside.  NOT so with the EFL.

Will it provide for tennis fans what they need and which they got from Amazon Prime and currently get from Discovery+  i.e.  access to Replays of all the matches at a tournament ? This will be so important e.g. at the USOpen when many matches will be played during nighttime  in the UK. The current facility to record just the 1 tennis channel provides access to only the matches which Sky chose to show on that channel. Replays of all the matches are essential. There is nothing in the hype about Sky Sports+ to suggest that it will  provide this.

I'm watch golf on old 2tb box.

I want to movev and up upgrade.

Sky Q seems unavailable.

Sky stream doesn't give me golf that was broadcast last week.

What does Sky Sports+ give a golf fan who is used to recording golf and having control over when he watches it and how?

With  "Sky Sports +" will we be able to still record on our sky q box's or even watch on the move via sky go

Can I watch this on my Xbox console if I have a sky sports package or would I need to subscribe via NOW (which costs more)?

I am not interested. Just do not require me to adjust anything.

Upgrading my box was relatively easy but communication with an agent was sluggish.

So no plans for Pubs and club then! they already pay over the odds subs and are getting less things to show.  Pubs and clubs all have skyHD boxes and no sign of them being able to upgrade to the Q boxes.  total rip off

Will I be able to watch one match and record or replay another on sky q. Will matches remain available for catch up on Sky stream. Can we choose home or away commentary. Will there be commentary. Does anyone from Sky answer questions here?

Does it mean we have 11 sky sports channels now, also wjat will channel number will it be or will it be on the sky sports app in entertainment part

Can you watch on Sky Go

Just turned 'Sky Go' on, on my PC .. and  'Sky Sport+' is there now.

@Not+nat

How do you access the fixtures and league tables on the new sky sports app ?
