Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@pilgrim44Well I have just got it, yesterday, changed from Sky Q.
First the don't likes, slow start up, once set up, just press the on/off button and wait, although it is only a few seconds it seemed like for ever.
I will get used to the interface but it will take time.
Everything else I liked, particularly the controller which when dark lights up when it is picked up.
Setting up was easy but time consuming as you have to also register individual apps, however they integrate well.
Depending on what you have at present the interface is very very different, like you I don't record much but wanted to use the programme guide to watch programmes. It works like any conventional guide once you find it as you have to scroll down a bit to find it. You can just play from the guide, if you want to "record" you just find it in the guide and press the + key on the controller it will then go into the play list, together with any other programmes in the series whether you want them or not. You can set up a number of play lists. If you have more than one puck they are somehow linked and any play list and its content appears in the other pucks.
I thought the sound quality was better than Q and the picture about the same (box set on HD)
The voice control is very responsive and easier to use than endless scrolling, for example you can just say "settings" and it goes there.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt's a very different concept to conventional recording boxes - there are many YouTube videos explaining this including skys own YouTube channel
mist common complaints on this forum are
- problems with timesheifting live sports
- differences in the channel line ups to q (no +1 channels to name a few )
- poor WiFi signal affecting the streams

Functional as an entirely IP-based solution for live TV with an EPG.
If you want Sky-exclusive content (Originals/Cinema/Sports) in the best quality possible then it's definitely the way to go.
Negatives for me are poor hardware and software. Stream is too slow and glitchy. Fast forwarding and rewinding is incredibly frustrating. Playlist is still haphazard so I no longer use it. Voice control only works 50% of the time.
If you have no other means of getting a wide range of channels then it's well worth looking at, but if you don't really need Sky content then it's a hard pass from me - you can get much better elsewhere.

Had Glass TV+Stream puck since mid-January here and family is still very much enjoying it. Prior this we were streamers anyway (mostly films & prestige drama, very little live TV and no sports), so the change hasn't been huge.
The only 'recording' we do at the moment is off of Sky Arts (Alfred Hitchcock Presents, as it is not available in its entirety on On Deman), which has worked flawlessly so far. Atmos & 4K/HDR content plays back fine. Everything else is via on demand. Only real complaints are the UI speed (relative to our Apple TV 4K box) and that Paramount+ content plays back in 2.0/stereo when the same content is in 5.1 via Apple TV.
Our Stream puck is wired via Ethernet to our Sky broadband hub and our Glass TV in the bedroom is on a good mesh Wi-Fi network. As is repeated so often on this forum a good Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection as well as fast enough broadband connectivity is the absolute key to a good Stream puck/Glass TV experience.
