There is no 'engineer' support for Sky Stream.

I bought a new Sony tv with assurances from a tv specialist and staff at John Lewis that it would connect to sky remote.

It didn't. 

Once again the model wasn't listed on sky, after three new TVs I assume new models are not listed. 
The "find it" function on sky didn't work. 
I kept selecting Sony models with a similar model number. Eureka!!!!!! 
Finally, I managed to get it working. 
I am posting this to help anyone else with the same problem.

I like everything about Sky Stream, but the downside is that the remote will not control the volume on my new 2024 TCL c855 TV, which means it's a hassle to change volume. Surely it's not too much to ask for Sky to regularly update the software to include the latest TV's! It isn't rocket science!

No, thinking about it, it wouldn't, unfortunately.  The Sky remote would still need to know the setting to control volume for your tv.....

I guess you're stuck with waiting for Sky to update the remote codes, I'm afraid.
