Why does Sky force UK with ads but everybody else around the world not?

I feel in the UK Sky Stream, Glass,  is fairly expensive premium service however we are forced with ads throughout on demand Sky content however across europe using sky showcase which covers large parts of europe now as a package with and a package without ads but in the UK we have no option still to remove the ads in on demand, just a terrible implementation of skip ads which is truly awful and pay an extra £5 for the privilage of what a freeview box used to to do for free and better. 

Same with peacock in the US sky owned package with or without ads. Just a shame in the UK everybody seems to except this and I think it is a disgrace for a premium service to force ads on top of what we pay with not even an paid option to remove them.

Peacock is the streaming service of NBC Universal Media Group which is a division of the Comcast Corporation, as is Sky Group. Content and service options on Peacock are nothing to do with Sky (which is why it withered and died in the UK)

Skyshowcase is sky though right? So why does all of Europe get an ad free paid option but us in the UK pay more but are forced ads on top?

Sky's NOW streaming service gives you the option of going ad-free with the Boost add-on. I wish they offered that on Stream instead of the dreadful ad-skipping.

You are referring to Sky Showtime, not Sky Showcase. Sky Showcase is a channel broadcast in the UK by Sky.

Sky Showtime is only offered in some european countries and is a joint venture product between Comcast and Paramount Plus. The idea is that it was used in some countries where neither Peacock nor Paramount Plus was launching.

@Padam_Padam it would be more limited on Stream due to most of the content having to be played via 3rd parth catch-up services. At least with Stream you get to fast forward the ads on the C4 and ITV X apps without having to subscrive to the premium service of both, so does make it cost effective in that manner.

If they bundled ITVX Premium & Channel 4+ in with the ad skipping pack, then it would be worth paying for.

Indeed would be good if the ad skipping had multiple tiers, one as it currently functions and the others bundled with ITV X and C4. I guess thats slightly harder to do, as similar to Netflix, Paramount + deals it would require having to link both a C4 and ITV X account to a Sky account to function. Certainly doable but probably not easy.
