We keep having an issue with a message coming up saying new software change list on our TV we hSpent

We keep getting the message new software change list on our screen. We have sky on in the background but can't see it. I spent 3 hours on  calls to sky where it everything was reset etc and still having this issue. Only joined sky on Friday

As @BenJoBanjo indicates, that's being generated by the television set operating system rather than the Sky hardware, and can only be actioned or dismissed using the television remote and not a paired Sky handset.  This catches people out all the time and Sky support really should be able to spot the symptoms (mainly that 'New Software Change List' is just not Sky wording)

Is the message perhaps generated by your TV rather than the Stream puck? Have you tried dismissing it or actioning a software update of the TV's OS, using the TV remote control (not the Sky remote)?
