Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

I first noticed this issue mid 2024. Sky told me that my broadband was at fault. After spending weeks having my broadband checked, obviously this wasn't the issue, sky confirmed that they had an issue with WFS. They told me that the issue would be resolved by mid October, this changed to December. When it didn't happen I cancelled my subscription. In January they stated the problem would be solved in the next roll out at the end of February, I called them and was assured the issue was resolved so with this in mind I took out a new subscription. Obviously someone told an untruth.

I still don't believe that the fix is quite as close as they say, probably because I have heard it all before. They may try but the results may be not what they are expecting.

I could have cancelled again but as they gave free ad skipping for 2 months, I will speak with them in 2 months time if no fix. In a nutshell, it's been going on too long.  [Removed] I have to say that I really missed sky when I cancelled, I now appreciate what I have but come on Sky, get that fix working. I have had sky since Sky started. Just don't offer features which you can't get right. 😁

Good advice there @TFDERRY , it's definitely worth speaking to Sky if you're not satisfied with what you're getting.

It would be good if folks on this thread could keep an eye on their software version and once you're on QS035.... (I don't know what the rest of the numbers will be) to report back if this is resolved for them or not.

Yeah, it's still on QS034.023.04P.

I will check this more often now thank you.

Not quite true, post on 9th Jan said a fix had been found and should be included in the 34 update. It was not. Not to mention the issue was being investigated in October as per a previous post.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Anonymous  I think the current rollout has started with Glass TVs as I am on the first 5% batch of rollouts and my Puck has still not been updated.  Some people have found their Glass has been updated but not their puck(s).  Fingers crossed it fixes this really frustrating FF issue.

When anyone does see they have been updated it is always a good idea to reboot their Glass or puck through the settings / resets & updates menu.

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

Yeah, exactly as I said, previous roll outs failed to improve the WFS feature. So I'm not holding my breath that 35 will work. It's soo infuriating when you do get caught out with this. I now simply don't fast forward on WFS, I'm too nervous to miss my show 😆 I hesitate to even put the volume up incase it skips.

I was watching series 4 episode 6 of a program, lost it on WFS went to Play list and after searching for this program for 15 mins I eventually found it under series 5 episode 3. Crazy Sky. Also while watching a movie on DMAX on WFS, I lost it, ad skipping, when I went to my play list the only way I could view it was to pay for it.

I never believed that I would spend my time in retirement trying to navigate around Sky's issues.

Sky! I just can't take any more of this. Sky Stream is NOT fit to be rolled out to the public.

I haven't heard much from the people who have already had the update, has anyone actually received it yet? Has the watch from start fiasco been resolved?

If mine isn't working on the 25th I'm done with Sky for good!

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

My Sky Glass TV is updated to QS035.010.00P and Fast Forward after program has completed is now working, from the limited testing I have done.

My Sky Puck boxes are still on QS034 and they still have the problem of course.

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

Our Puck was updated last week - to QS034.023.02P. WFS has even more issues with this - it doesn't always play from the start of a programme and despite adding somethin to the playlist, if live play finishes, the programme will just stop, even if not fast forwarding.

When is it going to be fixed?

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

@nicky15  I believe it's update QS035 that has a fix for this 'watch from the start' issue

doesntvseem to be out for  the sky stream pucks just yet.

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

My Sky Puck is at QS034.023.02P and as far as I know has been for some time.

As already noted the WFS and Fast Forward issue is fixed in QS035, which is available on  my Sky GLass but not yet on Puck.

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

My Sky Puck at QS034.023.02P. has no issues that I have found, other than the known WFS issue. that occurs when program has finished.
I have no problems in selecting WFS when I need to.

Re: Watch from start fast forward issue once broadcast has ended

KevNewMedia's answer to this post used to say the software rollout would be completed by the 25th of March.
I notice this has now been removed from his post, what new information do you have KevNewMedia?

WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

This isn't a minor inconvenience, it renders Sky Stream useless.
