Wanted to change to Sky Stream, why is it more expensive?

It good to know Sky like to rob there existing Customer. I've tried to change from SkyQ to Sky stream . Sky customer service told me I can switch no problem. But it will cost you an extra £30 a month. I'm paying at present £32 so to change it will cost me £62 .  So your contract price only work in there favour.

But I was told if I was a new customer it would be Cheaper. Only been with Sky 20years . It means nothing ... THEY ARE JUST ROBBERS.  Many Thanks Andrew....

So Sky can't give you a call off of the back of a forum post due to 2 reasons, 1) They won't know who you are and 2) This is a community forum of other Sky customers.

Its worth noting that that Sky Stream may cost more depending on what Sky Q packages you are currently on and if you have any discounts being applied.

Its a fact of life that existing customers wonts get the same deal as new customers. This pretty standard across the industry and the reason for this is that this is the more profitable model for them, get a customer on a cheap deal, then their discounts will expire and they will pay more like the list price of the package. The reason this model works is because most customers don't keep any eye on when their discounts are ending, when they can renegoitate a new deal and also some people just can't be bothered to keep switching provider.

Re: Sky like to rob existing customer

That answer comes from some who tows the Party line  and gets benefits from sky ....

Not really independent ..... I Would sooner get an answer from sky .... Or are we as customer just nobody to sky ... So they won't reply...

@aandre1969  So by your own logic you're not independent either?   You've just accused another customer of not being independent so that must apply to you too.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

As mentioned above this is a community of Sky customers, so Sky will not answer you, just other customers. You clearly are currently on a healthy discounted contract with Sky Q, so why would you want to change that?

@aandre1969 Sky are very unlikely to answer here.

If the price is too high dont buy its about all a customer can do. Sky have always been clear that  they normally dont discount Stream except to attract new customers that is a commercial decision.

@aandre1969 If you want an answer from Sky then you need to contact them and not post on a  customer help forum.  When I moved from Sky Q to Stream is was significantly cheaper for a like for like service.  I'm wondering if the person you spoke to misunderstood your requirements.  If you were considering ordering a Stream puck there would of course be the one off charge of £39
