I've recently swapped from Sky Q to Sky Stream. Now when I try to watch any live UHD Sky content (Sky Sports, TNT) the picture is dark. Worked fine with my Sky Q box. Also seems to be fine via other Apps, it's just when I try and watch Sky Stream UHD/HDR.
Is my TV too old to display the UHD/HDR content? You can get stuff from on demand which allows you to just view in UHD format. But anything UHD/HDR just gives a clear, but darker picture.
I've tried to adjust my TV but it won't let me change anything for the HDMI port the sky puck is using. I've also tried all the settings on the sky puck.
My TV is a 2017 Sony Bravia Sony KD-49XE7003
Thanks

I suspect that your TV is just a bit too old and doesn't have a high enough peak brightness level to do HDR content justice.
Looking at the specs, it's an edge-lit IPS type LCD panel. It seems to only have a peak brightness of 360 nits on a 10% window which is really quite low. These types of TV are marketed has having HDR but really don't have the necessary technology to show it off properly.
If you want a decent HDR presentation, particularly with the HLG format of HDR which Sky Stream uses, then you'll need to buy yourself a new TV. There are some excellent deals to be had on new 4K TVs which can show all the HDR formats: HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision so it's worth shopping around. Mini-LED can give incredible levels of brightness and contrast, perfect for HDR of all formats. OLED is stunning with HDR too, even models from a few years ago will give you contrast and brightness levels vastly superior to your current TV. You can pick up last year's OLED models for less than £800.

Thanks for the reply.
I was looking at the LG B4 55 inch OLED 4K HDR Smart TV (2024) - OLED55B42LA wich is about £849. I'm hoping that should be able to do the job.

That's an excellent TV.
