Hello all!
just removed sky cinema and sky sports and tnt saved over half my bill. Crazy. I'm debating getting rid of uhd and atmos. I've bought a new soundbar which is brilliant but my question to you all. Is there a point in having those two for £6 if I don't have those packages anymore

No, don't bother paying for it. Check your MySky app though - you can usually get 2-3months free, then cancel it... and the offer then reappears... repeat as necessary. 😉

you are a hero @Padam_Padam , think you helped me before.
their offering ad skipping for free for 2 months. Do you recommend doing the same with that? Do you have to remember to cancel?
they almost got me with a great deal earlier for sky cinema, sports and TNT. But I was like there's literally nothing on for 3 months haha! Do you have any other tips?

Having cancelled Sky Sports & Cinema already, unless you watch a lot of drama/Sky Atlantic etc in UHD, HDR & Atmos, I'd say probably not. Any non-Sky UHD & Atmos content, eg from Disney+, Apple TV+ etc will still come through as UHD, HDR & Atmos without Sky's UHD/Atmos add-on.
We happily pay for the add on but we do watch a serious amount of UHD, HDR & Atmos content on Sky between the Entertainment pack and Sky Cinema, on more than one device too. It would be much harder to justify without Sky Cinema though.

Yeah, do the same with ad skipping but yes, remember to cancel. I had UHD/Atmos and ad skipping free for 9 months by doing this when I had Stream.
The free offers would always reappear in MySky the day after the previous offer expired.

Hey!
where do I find these offers? Is it in the tv part of the MySky app or the vip Area? I'm a platinum member currently. I've just added ad skipping. I removed Netflix but now I just have the standard version for free with ads. It's awful but £6 was steep

Spot on.
i quite liked cinema but current offer at £13 a month is too much £10 tops. Is there a way you can see what's Dolby atmos content?
I've literally gone bare bones with just sky entertainment, whole home and Netflix standard. It's a shame they don't encourage you to stay with offers

Unlike UHD and HDR content, Sky do not badge their own content as Atmos or otherwise. First I can tell if anything is playing back in Atmos is my AV receiver's front panel telling me so (or the on screen badge on SKy Glass after presseing the '...' button).

I just tried pressing the ... button on my sky stream but it just says subtitles and audio track and that says English so I'm not sure where you can see it sadly
I have a Samsung soundbar so I'm hoping it says that on my Q800c

For me, UHD is an absolute must and £6 per month is an insignificant amount

The '...' button showing the Dolby Atmos (and Dolby Vision) badges on-screen when playing encoded content is a Glass specific thing (I believe) rather than Stream puck. It would be good if Sky badged their Atmos content as per Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV+ eg al.

Hey!
I agree but not when there's not a lot of UHD content other than sky cinema and game of thrones etc

Sky sports in UHD is worth the money alone
