The good news for me is that I got the volume control working with LG sound bar via Sky Stream using the optical connection. I can't quite recall how I did it, but the Sky remote does take the sound bar volume up and down - BUT it doesn't show the onscreen volume bar, so I guess it is directly operating the soundbar rather than using the TV or the Sky box to control the volume.
The bad news is that the HDMI control isn't working properly. The Sky Stream box can switch on the TV using the HDMI control, but the press-and-hold to switch off the Sky Stream box AND the TV with one button doesn't work, which is just a bit infuriating.
This is why I'm looking at the Virgin Media and Vodafone options in the market too.
