Have an LG television. ITVX App sometimes skips ads and sometimes it doesn't. I pay the extra for ad skipping. Sometimes at ad breaks the screen just goes blank and we have to go out and back into the App to restart the program. It is basically very clunky. Are Sky or ITV getting this sorted because if they do not I am going to Virgin.

@Fothergill1thanks for that tip on ad skipping. It does work if you stop the skipping just before the end. We just wish ITVX or Sky would resolve the crashing issue. Every time we watch a program on ITVX the screen just goes blank at the adverts. We have to exit the App and re-enter to get back to the adverts. We can then skip them. ITVX support are useless. They just suggest a factory reset. It is nothing to do with our TV. There is so much bad press on social media about ITVX not working on Sky streaming platforms. They should look on Trustpilot where 96% of the reviews of ITVX are 1 star !

We got the same problem with itvx not skipping the ads, we have sky glass. Must be a problem with the app.

Yeah same problem here, other half settled down to catch up with the soaps, and although it looks af if its skipping to the end of the ads, it will either display a black screen or start the ads from the beginning again😡 so have had her cursing the TV all morning, as only way she can watch the shows on ITV X is by watching the ads as well 😱

@Freddieboy69I have delved in to the chat on the Sky community and it seems there are lots of issues with the ITVX App and Sky Glass/Stream. We have Sky Stream and the ITVX App has been pretty awful since we changed to Stream in December 2022. We have noticed recently that it does not enter some series on the Playlist if the series is on ITVX. Then there is the constant crashing and problems with adverts. It is very poor service from ITV and reflects badly on Sky so I just wonder why after 6+ months they are not getting this sorted 🤔

Still getting same problem with ITVX App on Sky Stream. Contacted ITVX and tech team
who were unable to help and finally suggested I do a factory reset. That's the best they could come up with. Clearly there is a problem with the ITVX App running smoothly on Sky Stream and ITVX and Sky will not acknowledge this.

I've called sky twice and each time I'm told they've never been informed of this issue but that they'll make sure irs looked into. So they clearly hadn't done anything about it after my first call. It's been like this for three months now. That's three months paying for ad skipping that doesn't work. I asked for some sort of refund/discount but they politely declined. This is just one more issue to add to the long list of this terrible service. Yesterday most of the image tiles disappeared and it's the same today.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Howard1363 ITVX is rubbish at the best of times but if, when you FF the Ads they are looping back to the beginning again simply stop the FF just before the end and when the programme starts it won't replay the Ads.

Same on sky steam as well.
Not a sky issue it's a ITVX error they ones you should contact.

I thought I'd do a Kent Brockman & add my Two Cents Worth even though I have been using ITVX via my TV app & not Sky. It's the first time I've used it as we wanted to watch Love and Death. I've encountered various issues. The first one is that it keeps asking me to do the verification by email thing before I start but I can bypass this easily without verifying anything, so why keep asking me?
Next is the advert breaks - I don't have Premium. It keeps cutting to the ads while people are still talking & then when it returns after the ad break it will replay the previous 30 seconds.
I say " when it returns ", but that is another issue. This doesn't happen after every ad break but generally every other ad break, the programme doesn't return and I'm left with a black screen. I have to come out of the programme to its home screen & reselect the episode to get it to play. This is the most annoying of all the issues.
Lastly is when the programme ends & you get the choice of the countdown to the next episode or watching the credits. I choose the credits option but it doesn't revert to full screen as it should, instead, it stops playing & goes straight to the next episode even though I didn't choose that option.
So as you can see, it's not only an issue when watching via Sky.

I forgot to mention the weirdest one of all. Again it happened after an ad break. The scene was the two main characters sitting in a diner having a conversation. Not that you'd know that with what we were greeted with on screen. What we saw was a massive close-up of the character's hair & sometimes a massive close-up of a wall-mounted stag's head. After about 90 seconds we realised it was yet another issue with ITVX & not some artsy cinematography. Again, we had to come out of the episode & restart it from the home screen & this time it was okay.
I think I can safely say that when we have seen Love and Death we will never be using ITVX again.

This is still an abolute disgrace. The implementation is appalling.
ITvX is very poor, Sky an ITV need to get together and sort out the service. I am going to take up the issue with Which.

Despite saying we wouldn't be using ITVX again, we did last week as we wanted to watch Why Didn't They Ask Evans? Strangely, it was okay, all of those issues we had the first time around seem to have been fixed. Again, this was via the TV app & not via Sky.

I've been getting the exact same thing on ITVX too (& I pay extra for ad skipper & the screen will just go blank & wont respond etc)
I've also noticed that with a lot of different apps keep just crashing when chosen too & when I spoke to Sky, they said I had to be in front of my tv & call them when it happens- how am I meant to predict when an app is going to crash & make sure I'm on the phone with Sky ready- it's ridiculous!!!
