TV shows banner identifying HDMI port every time a new program or advert comes on

Received my SKY Stream Puck yesterday. In general I'm very impressed. Just one annoying thing. Each time the program changes, or each time an new advert comes on, the TV displays the HDMI port being used, as a banner over the program. This lasts for a few annoying seconds. I wonder if it's the cable, but I'm using the HDMI lead that came with the box. I have tried swapping to all the different HDMI locations. Anyone have a similar experience or advice? Thank you

Thank you both for your replies. You led me to the right answer. I looked through my TV settings. Found an item called 'show information banner'. I disabled this. The annoying 'banner' is no longer displayed as I change channels. Happy days 😊.

It's likely that the resolution is changing as different content comes on, some shows may be 4K, 1080p or 720p, and some ads might be SD.

It sounds like your TV has a bit of an annoying feature which advertises each time it happens, but that's not typical.

What's your TV make and model, maybe we can find a setting to turn that off.

The Stream puck only outputs at a single resolution set in the video output settings. If it's set to output 2160P then it upscales all SD or HD content to 2160P and outputs it at that resolution. It does not switch resolutions.
