Sky stream picture freezing, sound ok
I've seen similar issues raised and resolved on here but I still get the problem that the screen on Skystream often freezes. The interval between freezes can vary from 10 seconds to several minutes but it happens pretty much every time we watch Sky. The puck is a long way from the router but I have a mesh wifi system and the puck consistently says excellent WiFi. I checked the broadband speed, it's around 54mb, which should be fine. Any help appreciated.

The advice is always try and use ethernet if you can, this will prevent and speed fluctuations caused by WiFi interference.
SkyOS runs largely from Sky's servers, not from the puck or Glass TV, so it needs a constant, stable connection or you start getting the glitches such as those you are seeing.
Regular reboots are also recommended to re-establish the server connection.
Stream pucks just don't have the on-board storage to cache much data, so they are much more likely to suffer issues than many other streaming devices where apps are stored locally and content is streamed direct from a server rather than via an OS on a server.
It's a complicated system which can work fine for those with rock solid broadband, but if you don't, and can't work out why, then you may continue to have issues.

That 54Mbps.
Is that the speed you see via the Netflix app on your Sky Stream?
Just to make sure, do a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a handful of times, say over a half hour period.
What is your speed?
For Sky Stream to work reliably, Sky recommend a minimum available broadband spoed at all times of 25Mbps.
Or 30Mbps if you add an extra Sky Stream puck or to watch in UHD.
Using the Sky Sports live sync option will add a few more Mbps per puck.

Re: Sky stream picture freezing, sound ok
Thanks for the advice. Netflix says 25mb, so very borderline!

Yeah, you'll struggle to maintain a stable service unless that 25Mbps is rock solid with no interference or fluctuation.

You really are going to struggle going forwards using Sky Stream reliably with that available speed.
Have you checked your broadband offerings recently to see if you can get a better speed, namely a fibre offering.
A quick and easy check is the Ofcom checker that will list the Openreach offerings from the likes of Sky and EE, as well as Virgin and the any altnets supplying fibre broadband in your area.
The links to the altnets will be listed under the Networks in your area line.
