Sky stream not showing full length of programme

Hi, Over the past week I have noticed that when I am playing a TV series that is on My5 that is in my Playlist it keeps ending before the programme has even finished and to be honest it's getting really annoying because the next episode doesn't show the previous one but others that are on during the week. So I'm missing the end of every one of these programmes. I've had Sky Q for over 15 years but my new house was unable to have a dish so I had to have Sky Stream. On the Sky Q box you could set the time to record for say 5 mins before the programme started and for it to stop recording say 5 mins afterwards. So Sky Q worked. Sky Stream doesn't have this as it doesn't supposedly 'record' even though it does 'download' your next episode of a said series that you have added to your playlist. How can I fix this issue of Sky Stream not letting me watch the full episode right to the end as its stopping about 3 mins before and if you watch Law & Order you'll know that right at the end of their court case they say something and sometimes it's quite important like the actual verdict! I've also just found out there are some of my favourite channels I can't get on Stream yet they are still available on Sky Q so this has annoyed me. I've gone to all my settings on my Stream to see if there is any option for it to download an extra few mins or anything I can see to fox the issue as it seems it's only happening with the my5 programmes. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks for reading.

Hi @Alias7

Re the channels sly publish the channel list here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-channel-list-sky-glass. Sky cannot add channels unilaterally and require an agreement with the broadcaster to add channels to the Glass and Stream EPG. Smaller channels may not be able to meet the cost or technical requirements and therefore decide not to be on the system at this stage.

Re recording you are right, Glass and Stream does not record. There is no hard drive hence no settings. You can check to see if the program is on the My5 app rather than the cloud recorded version, however the only other thing you can do is record the issue to Sky's viewer relations team (email viewerR@sky.uk) who will investigate and feedback. It could be an issue with meta data between channel 5 and Sky etc.

Re: Sky stream not showing full length of programme

Hi

Thank you for the email and I will send them an email with the info.

I do wonder if it's an issue with the My5 channel because this channel is the only one that doesn't always let me watch shows I've added to my playlist. I started watching Nashville then all it does now is shows the buffer icon for several mins and this has been like it for months. I contacted My5 directly and they said it could be my tv not updated with the update etc but my TV is brand new and it was all up to date and I did explain that I'm not viewing My5 directly from my TV but via my Sky Stream puck-they never replied back.

Then it happened again a few times with Hawaii 5-0 the new series not the original and that's hit and miss-I press play, it goes from the home screen and shows the My5 icon screen then the buffer icon goes round and round for minutes so I try again every so often.

I'll send all this to sky stream and see if there's anything they can do. I love Sky but if I and a choice of Sky Q and Sky Stream I would have stuck with the Sky Q. There's no Virgin in my area so it's a bit like like it or lump it sort of situation. Lol.

I did check the channels list that show which channels they don't do as I was wanting to watch a craft shopping channel show and it said it was Sky 670 and when I went down my channels I noticed it wasn't there. In fact there's none of the craft/jewellery making shopping channels.
