Sky stream log in to netflix. Without changing billing.

Hi I have taken out sky stream that offers a included netflix with options to upgrade. Currently i receive netflix as part of my ee plan and get the premium upgrade for £3 pm

I have signed into my netflix account on the stream and it wants to link to my account and the options are to change the the free netflix with adverts, or pay sky £6 pm

Is it not possible to sign into the netflix app without linking it to my sky account and just keep my current billing arrangements for netflix? Which is exactly how it worked on the virgin media box.

Hi @Matt-edwards

This only happens the first time you log into netflix. See: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/apps-on-sky-q-and-glass-using-netflix

You could create a dummy account as per the instructions in that article and this becomes the free netflix with ads account associated with your Sky subscription. You could then sign out of netflix and sign in with your current EE powered netflix account.

Note that doing so you will still be paying an element of your Sky subscription to Netflix: there's no way to avoid that if the Netflix app on a Sky device is used at all.

Of course there's also no achievable saving, because there's no option to have Glass/Stream without ad-supported Netflix.
