So, completely new sky customer here....my stream puck arrives today and wants to be activated within two weeks. But broadband doesn't come till 6th December. Will I have to pay for stream for a week without being able to use it?

@Daniel888 do be aware that if you don't activate your stream puck yourself within 14 days of delivery sky will do it automatically on day 14 and start billing from that date regardless with no exceptions
Automatic Sky Stream activation does not start until 21 days after delivery, not 14.
One to watch out for: If you don’t activate your Sky Stream puck within 21 days of delivery, your subscription and billing will start automatically

Thanks for replying ...I do but I don't necessarily want to be paying for my existing contract as well as sky stream... the small print in the contract is different and it actually says 21 days so it might not be an issue ....

Sorry I'm not understanding ? You can use stream with any internet connection
or do you not want to activate stream until you also switch broadband ?
Does your current internet provider not expire on the day sky internet starts ?

as @Jporch316 has pointed out you can use any broadband provider to use sky stream as your stream subscription tv contract is completely separate from your sky broadband or any other isp contract

Re: Sky stream arrives today but broadband in three weeks time, will I have to pay for stream before
So basically, if you don't want to start paying for Sky Stream immediately, just wait a couple of weeks after your puck arrives, then connect it to your TV and your current broadband. Enjoy your Sky Stream service.
Then, when your Sky broadband is activated a week or so later, just go into the network settings on your puck and change the broadband connection to the new router. If you connect with an ethernet cable and have wifi turned off then you won't even need to change any settings.

Re: Sky stream arrives today but broadband in three weeks time, will I have to pay for stream before
I just don't want to pay twice, I'm already with virgin tv until switch date,in December, so if I turned stream on now I would have to pay both! I think it's ok because it takes 21 days to auto switch on so only a couple of days of paying twice

Re: Sky stream arrives today but broadband in three weeks time, will I have to pay for stream before
Thank you! I have seen both 14 and 21 days but contract says 21! So I will only pay a couple of days unnecessarily. It's a shame it has to work like that though

Just checked the terms at my point of sale emails and my MYsky document links that I had back in Feb2024.
Checked the current T&Cs for Sky Stream, plus it also lists on the Sky site when ordering Sky Stream now in the terms, and the related Sky shop etc.
All says
You agree that we’ll automatically activate your Sky Glass subscription and start billing you 21 days after delivery, if you haven't already done it

Re: Sky stream arrives today but broadband in three weeks time, will I have to pay for stream before
I've moved from BT to Sky. Puck arrived a week or so before my Sky router. I activated the puck straight away using my BT broadband and it worked fine. I have a slight overlap between BT TV/TNT Sports and Sky Stream/Sky Sports/TNT Sports but I'm not too bothered since I'm getting Sky Go and Netflix. Router swap went well yesterday including moving my landline to VOIP.
I've already been billed for Sky Stream and have a bill for Sky Broadband. Hopefully the two will be rolled together in the future.

As TV and Broadband are separate services and separate contracts they are billed separately. I think Sky confuse things by bundling broadband and stream into new customer packages which gives the impression they are one service, one contract and therefore one bill.

Yes they absolutely do lead people to believe that .... so, it's two contracts and they subdivide the bill... that's a bit annoying... means it will come out in different days
