Sky Stream is a streaming service, not a satellite PVR. It does not record in the same sense - there is no physical hard drive in the puck.
You add shows to a playlist instead which will direct you to a stream of that particular show, often from a third party app such as iPlayer, ITVX or All4.
You cannot have Sky Stream and Sky Q at the same time - it's one service or the other.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Andy2377 They do replace q hardware but they don't record in the conventional sense as there is no physical storage, instead you add programs to a playlist and stream them from the channels catch up on demand service

Thanks guys. May look at calling them and swapping to Sky Q unless this is the way forward 🤔

Depends on how you watch TV.
Streaming is the future, but Sky Stream isn't the best for it yet. Sky Q remains a more versatile and stable platform, particularly if you were used to recording things to watch back whenever you like with minimal fuss. Live sports in particular can be troublesome on Stream due to extra delay.
