Sky steam freezing and switching tv off
So for weeks my sky stream has frozen switching off tv. I've tried everything, new cables, diffrent tv, new puck from sky all the same, broadband speed is 140 maps. So today I switched off UHD and gone back to HD. All is now working. Tried a movie in UHD lasted 14 mins, watched the whole thing in HD and no problems. So problem solved but cant watch in UHD. Will try an eithernet cable amd se what happens. If continues will cancel UHD subscription.

Re: Sky steam freezing and switching tv off
Sounds a bit like when using UHD, your puck is not getting a good wifi speed, see below.
Having a good local network broadband reach is key to Sky Stream.
Not just broadband speed to your house and router, but for your local network supply via wifi or ethernet, that can be affected in a busy household.
Best way to test is via a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, over say a half hour period during tests.
What is your speed for each puck?
The Sky recommended minimum broadband speed is 25Mbps.
Or 30Mbps if you add an extra Sky Stream puck or watch in UHD.
Using the Sky Sports live sync will also add a few Mbps to each puck
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.
My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q. Click here to read

Re: Sky steam freezing and switching tv off
Hi, I've tested thorough netflix, says 145mbps, I've seen in other posts that there seems to be a problem with UHD thorough sky puck. I've only been back on HD for a few hours so will have to see how it goes but so far its all good.

Re: Sky steam freezing and switching tv off
Your broadband speed is not fast enough the more devices that you have connected the weaker the signal is to each one, open Netflix go to help open that go to check my network and run that to see what speed you are getting, the minimum speed for streaming with sky is 25mps for hd channels and 35mps for uhd channels also try connecting the puck with an ethernet cable it more stable then wifi to. I have two 55inch sky glass tvs, a sky puck, a 43inch lg smart tv, sky live camera, freesat box, Xbox, ps5, tablet, laptop, personnel computer, video doorbell 3 mobile phones 3 alexas smart meter and I have gigafast broadband 900mps full fibre to the property and have never had any problems with freezing and I had sky glass since November 2021

The OP has done this and mentioned a speed of 145 mbps. More than the figures shown above, you're saying that is not fast enough?
