Surely, that would complicate matters further?!

How do cope with family members wanting to have different start locations?
16 Jul 2024 12:19 PM
I think you are going off topic !!
16 Jul 2024 12:23 PM
@Dillydollydo You agreed with Clive and Clive brought up the subject of families😉
16 Jul 2024 12:24 PM
Yes, but that's not the discussion topic. But nevermind. I appreciate your input! 😃

Well my explicit view is ... turning off timeout should not be possible on any TV device😉
Saying others do it is no reason to say Sky must also allow it🤔

"If a family member actives the Puck do they necessarily want to start from what another family was watching?"
They all want to start from the Playlist. We only have one, which shows all our family viewing.

It would be a simple programming change to allow the user to set where the menu should start at switch on. This would greatly reduce the annoyance of the auto switch off.
But Sky clearly want to keep control and push their choice of programmes at switch on, so I can't see this happening.

@_Clive_ That's very different to what others want ... interesting your family watch series at the same pace😉
16 Jul 2024 01:13 PM
No, I agree with the OP.
But given that's not possible, the change I suggested would greatly reduce the annoyance - at least as far as this subscriber is concerned.

Who had ever asked for their tv to be turned off whilst they watch it? It's not a reasonable answer, and just assuming everyone wants the same, which is ridiculous!

I would also like to add, that this (annoyance with the puck) 'problem' was not made clear to me when the engineer visited and advised me to purchase!

It's an interesting perspective ... whether energy saving should imposed especially considering how much finite energy resources are wasted🤔
The regulations were introduced after considerable research that showed TV devices were a significant culprit ... it was a great shame that an indefinite option was allowed😉
If there is active viewing all that is required is to respond to the information message😊

Thanks everyone for the information shared here. I guess that there is no fix to this and that I will just have to put up with the fact that the stupid thing keeps turning off. Like life isn't annoying enough at times!!
