Re: Sky puck is awful
SES will gladly launch new satellites (as they do for 19.2e) if there is still demand for them. That's not likely in Sky's case.

Not only is the potential viewing audience in these two offshore islands considerably smaller than on the European mainland, but it's also already embracing streaming to a greater degree.

Had all the same issues, they asked me to go out and buy an Ethernet cable to connect from my router to the puck to do a manual update. Bought it and said they'd ring me back, never did. Rang up again and had to hard reset it about 5 times as it kept freezing upon start up. Absolutely awful. Going to cancel it.

Re: Sky puck is awful
Sky changed the puck and we haven't had any trouble since. Why this couldn't have been sorted sooner I don't know, it would have saved me from writing such a critical report.

Which issues? Might be worth starting a new thread and listing your issues ..... the community may be able to help

Re: Sky puck is awful
Just joined sky. Was watching the news and other programs, when a person was talking, the sound was out of sync. I have read about this on several forums. Has any one gad the same issue? Or how have you resolved

Re: Sky puck is awful
In many cases it usually happens after a small glitch in the stream which results in the sound dropping out of synch. I've not seen it for a fair while now. You can correct it by simply changing channels. But a better way is to go into the settings, sound, and select PCM Stereo.

Re: Sky puck is awful
At first I had no issues with the connection to my pucks. However as time went on loss of connection stared and increased to a point I was having to reboot the devices multiple times a day destroying my viewing pleasure. After some investigation it turned out that I had 30 odd devices connected to my broadband. Part of modern life using devices such as wireless plugs/sockets,talets,phones, tv,,kitchen appliances,, wireless speaker,, guest registered to use your WiFi, all these add up. This was narrowing the bandwidth causing the drop out even though they were not all in use all the time. Just having them as registered devices narrows the bandwidth. Spoke to Sky about upgrading my broadband, but was running at the maximum I could get to my house. After some investigation and discussion I moved to virgin 1gig. Now no issues. I will say Sky was very good and waived the early leaving fee and I did keep my Sky TV package as feel it's better than virgins.
