Sky puck in an out building
I'm trying to move my sky puck to my man cave in my garden. I have a TP booster on the same power line but it won't connect. I've used Ethernet as well as trying non cabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Sky puck in an out building
Hi @Kingbrog
Can other devices connect to this, or is it just the puck that's struggling?
Consider liking this post if it was helpful, or mark as an answer if it solved it for you.

Re: Sky puck in an out building
@Kingbrog not sure why ethernet is not working but by far the best way is a direct ethernet cable from the hub to the puck in the out building. Failing that asuming the building's mains supply comes from the house you can try powerline networking adapters thst uses the mains cables. These can come with built-in wifi access points but using ethernet tothe puck would be better.
WiFi can be flaky between separate buildings unless you se external access points designed for the purpose.

Re: Sky puck in an out building
A booster is only as good as the signal it receives ......
as per the post above try powerline adapters ..... they are inexpensive and much more effective than a booster

Re: Sky puck in an out building
Sorry just seen your photos - is that a powerline adapter ?
try a different ethernet cable in case you are using a "cross over" cable and not a standard ethernet
also just for ref you need a pair of powerline adapters .... the other one needs to be plugged into the router

Re: Sky puck in an out building
The photo of your AV600 powerline extender box shows that the LED indicating that it is connected to a powerline network is extinguished. Ensure the extender is plugged into a wall socket in the outbuilding and not an extension lead. My guess is that you either need to pair it with the powerline adapter that's connected to your router again, or the power to the outbuilding is not on the same circuit as the router {so it can't communicate via the mains wiring). If you don't have the instruction book to hand you can get a PDF version here - https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202008/20200824/1910012821_TL-WPA4220(EU)_UG_REV5.0.0.pdf
