Sky Ultimate TV upgrade... what's the catch?

So I accidentally tried to watch something on Sky Max which I don't have on Essential TV... but then there's this upgrade page (see picture):

Does this mean the upgrade is essentially free or is that an additional £18 a month? Either way this is a poorly designed and hard to parse page.

Cheers

Hi @HsGlaical  It's difficult to be sure.  The standard price for Sky Ultimate without any discounts id £33.60 but I see they were offering it at a discounted price of £22 recently but this might just be for new Sky customers.

Your best bet is to call Sky to discuss changing from Essential to Ultimate and see what they are prepared to offer you.  If it is not to your liking you don't have to upgrade so there is no harm in enquiring.  It would mean starting a new 24 month contract though.

Re: Sky Ultimate TV upgrade... what's the catch?

I'm paying £15 per month for Ultimate on Stream. It was an offer over the phone. I got Sport for £20 a month on top of that.

I'm regretting it now though as it's just so bad. My broadband is perfect. All speed tests on Netflix show it gets 89 over ethernet with wifi off and 500+ with wifi. I've rebooted, restarted, done a factory reset on the phone with sky and they even sent a new puck but it does the same. It just freezes randomly and live sport in UHD is a joke, constantly glitching, speeding up to catchup with itself.

Stream is really, really poor. I'm cancelling asap. Aint paying for this nonsense.
