Sky Stream playlist and catch up not fit for purpose with Sky Sports

I had another thread about the Darts missing sessions, but having struggled to enjoy the Darts in the run up to Christmas on my new Sky Stream I have to say it is unlikely that I will keep it beyond the 31 day cooling off period as it seems the problem is bigger than I thought.

I know that the Stream is not a PVR, but it still offers to "record" things, and yes I realise that live sports will run over the allotted time occasionally, but surely that's what the catch up service is for?

Not so it would seem and it smacks me right round the face as sheer incompetence from Sky.

If I had a Sky Q system then I would just record the following programme to ensure I didn't miss anything becuase it appears Sky are too useless to make sure the EPG keeps up to date with over running live sports programmes.

A number of times now the last game of the Darts will be missing the end, in what is usually a good game as the PDC and Sky deliberately schedule the best games last!

That's if you can even find any sessions you are after, many with the wrong picture to go with the games and others under the "series 1" tab and others in the, er, "other" tab.

I pay for the UHD so I expect the games in UHD (as they are broadcast in this format), and the majority of them are, but for some reason some episodes in the "Darts" tab on the Home screen, or in the Sports tab, or in my playlist only have an HD option (channel banners have reverted back to "Sky Sports F1" as well over Xmas and not "Sky Sports Darts").

So I was enjoying the Aspinall game in the evening session of D4, cuts off halfway through the game, still don't know the result as I was hoping it would appear, even under the separate games that randomly appear, but no.  It's still there in my playlist, missing the end of the game.

Same thing happened at the end of the Clayton v Mansell game on the 23rd's afternoon session, it's the last set, sudden death decider and it cut off right near the end.

I did manage to find that one lurking around one of the darts categories in HD and it DID have the ending of the game, so I managed to see that, but it just goes to show, it can be done - only incompetence means it is not done routinely.  Plus I pay extra for UHD, so why could I watch over 4 hours of that session in UHD, but not the last 15 minutes?  It's been 9 days since the Aspinall session and it's still missing the end!

To round it off, the very last session before Xmas, 23rd Dec, 7pm and I'm enjoying the Cross v Williams last game, it's very close, 1-1 in sets and 1-1 in legs in the 3rd set and, you guessed it, the scheduled 4hr 31 mins have passed to too bad, you miss the end.  Can't see any other feed that will have what could be another 30 minutes of action.

And now it seems the Darts tab just gives 40-50 minute highlights of the sessions, there's no way to access the full sessions (or part sessions as the case may be), except the ones in my playlist.

Honestly, you really couldn't make this up - Sky Stream is now NOT a new product so they should have this basic functionality working by now.  It really is quite an unintuitive system.

I took out Sky Stream mainly for the sports and mainly for the Darts so this is not going to work going forward when the Premier League is on every week and the matches regularly run over the alloted time, is it just going to be the same and I'll miss the final every week?

What about the Masters Golf?  The Open?  Will I watch all the days play on catch up and then the ending is missing because it went to a play off and overran the schedule?

Absolute number one basic stuff for this just to work so that the end of events aren't missed.

Once again, total incompetence and I would warn others thinking they will be able to playlist or catch up on their favourite sports to think twice because, for me, the service is virtually unusable if it cannot be relied upon.
