Having relunctantly taken up Sky Stream following a SKY+HD box failure, SKYQ Engineer visit determined that it would have to be cabled in which was not feasible ) I have been disappointed with UHD transmissions which to me don't look any better than the HD that my Sky+ satellite transmissions looked. In fact the HD transmissions look worse than the Sky+ box. As far as I can see I have all the correct settings. Nothing wrong with my broadband speeds.
Anyone else feel the quality isn't as good?

Problem resolved, emailed sky.uk
as suggested who emailed back this morning to say it should now be ok which it was so thank you.

Almost nothing is 'transmitted' in UHD: it's pretty much all on-demand.
Are you definitely watching UHD content?

The only really good way to check what speed a Stream puck is receiving is to use the Network test built in to the on-board Netflix app.
Go to the Netflix home screen, then go left to open the menu.
At the bottom, select Get Help > Check your Network.

1 - Yes you can find the odd Sky UHD transmission eg Sky F1 /some football
2 - Yes ran the Netflix speed app which showed 69.36mbps
Just don't think SKY HD is as sharp as it was coming through the satellite dish

I'd have been happy sticking with my Sky+HD box. I did acquire a replacement box while looking at the SKYQ installation problem which worked but then lost my multiroom package which sky said couldn't be reinstated so had to ring them every couple of days to resend the signal down to the second box. Hence now on Sky Stream

A lot will depend on your TV, the size of the screen and how far away from it you sit.
A 65" OLED will definitely show the difference between SD, HD and UHD quite starkly.
A 42" OLED will show a less noticeable difference between HD and UHD, particularly if you're sat quite a few feet away from it.

I've got a new 42in OLED and sit six feet from it. The HD picture quality is so good I'm not convinced Sky's UHD is worth the extra £6/m. I've got the two month free add-on but when that ends I'm not likely to renew. The picture break-up on UHD Sky Sports is more than irritating

Yeah you won't notice a vast difference between HD and UHD on that kind of screen size/distance. You'll perhaps notice the difference with HDR content but it depends on the source.
You can usually repeat the UHD/Atmos free for 2 months offer, so you may find you end up not having to pay for it at all. I got it free for 9 months by cancelling then repeating the offer which re-appeared on MySky the day after the previous offer expired.

I moved over from Sky Q in the last week. On QI had UHD, it was a great improvement on HD for F1 and other sports.
With Streaming and a new almost top of the range Samsung 55" tv, all in the same place it was, HD is significantly improved over Q! I haven't bothered to get UHD upto now and doubt that I will.
Currently the delay is still a niggle, however over the next few weeks I'd expect that to fade.
Happy to have moved and the small pucks are great, the dish will be gone after I return the Q box. Hubby, is slightly less impressed but is coming around nicely.
All he needs to do is climb the latter and remove the dish 😂
