Sky Stream - UHD Sound and Image Stuttering

Hi All,

I have been using sky steam for a few weeks now and I have noticed the voice / image freezes while watching live sports on either SKY Sports Mainevent UHD or BT sports Ultimate.

I currently have 150 MBps Fibernet and have no issues streaming other 4K HDR / Dolby Vision content on my TV.

could you please help fix the issue? Or is this a common occurrence on other sky stream customers?

Seems to be quite a common occurrence, only with live UHD HDR sports content. It's reported fairly commonly on here. 

I can't say I've ever experienced it, but the only bit of live sport I've watched was a Eurosport UHD stream of a tennis match a few weeks ago and it was fine. All other UHD/HDR non-live/non-sport  streams from Sky channels play without fault on my puck. I avoid the third party apps as they've buffered and crashed too many times in the past for me.

Yeah its a common problem, a lot of post with the same thing. I have this problem myself with live Sky sports in UHD, of you try rewinding a few minutes or play from the start it seems to sort it out and plays fine but we shouldn't have to do that when we pay for UHD and it's live sports.

I agree sky is charging a lot of money and providing poor quality of service. There are numerous posts related to this issue but there's no definitive resolution.

Restarting the device / switching channels and coming back to uhd fixes the issue momentarily but not completely. Not what we need when you're watching live sports tbh.

The only reason why I went for Sky stream was for the UHD sports and if sky cannot do a decent job providing it, I might cancel my subscription altogether and go for NowTV which is much cheaper.

does sky support ever read these messages and provide a resolution?

Try rewinding a few minutes when you next watch something, yes you'll be 2 or 3 minutes behind but you should at least be able to watch it that way, it's the only way I can atm.

As suggested rewinding a couple of minutes back works without issues but sky needs to acknowledge there's a bug with sky stream and provide a patch update!!!

I called sky customer care earlier this morning and the agent confirmed they are aware of this issue for many other stream customers and they don't have a fix for this yet.

they have asked me to cancel my uhd subscription for the upcoming month.

pretty ridiculous by sky to launch a product and offer a package which they know has a bug

Just tried this. Rewound 5 seconds and played and problem sorted . But as you say why should we have to do this when paying extra for UHD Live Sports? This has only just started happening. Solution SKY?

It's been a year and yet sky hasn't resolved the issue. It's a shame.

I brought this up with customer support and the agent basically asked me to cancel the subscription if I didn't like their service. 
they're riding on the market monopoly wave!!

Just wanted to mention that this is still an ongoing problem. For me, it's anything sport related that's recorded/on playlist. Constantly skipping and unstable... internet speed not an issue. Considering the cost, the quality is poor.

Same for me too on Sports UHD but i am cancelling sky at end of contract anyway as not worth the money but hopefully if we all post they will take note!

I receive my Sky sports through Now TV and the uhd programmes have buffering on sound and vision. I haven't tried rewinding a little yet but I will

Well, I've just tried rewinding 10 minutes, played the uhd and it's buffering on sound and vision so no change. The HD version of the Fleetwood match is perfect aaargh!
