Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
I'm having trouble with my Sky Stream picture when watching sports. It's not smooth and is just a bit clunky so takes away from the viewing experience. I'm currently watching Sky Sports main event.
I have Sky Broadband Ultrafast Plus and have tested the internet in the room so the speed is fine.
Any suggestions on how to improve this?

Hi @Ed94
I've just watched the Liverpool game in UHD on SkySportsME and not had any issues. Testing the speed on the puck is the best course of action, you can do this by opening netflix and opening the left menu. Go to get help > connectivity> connection check.
You need 25Mbps for HD and 30Mbps for UHD.

Re: Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
I watched that match in full in hdr on Sky Sports Main event and saw no issues at all.
As above, check your Sky puck speed using the Netflix test;
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say a few minutes between tests.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.

Re: Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
I have found the selecting livesynch when on SS UHD 401 improves things a lot in term of buffering. It appears to change the channel behind the scenes. Only downside is it is very slightly behind the live feed, if your friends message you about a goal!!

Re: Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
Hi @Maccca1
Live sync is the low latency version and is closer to the live broadcast then the normal channel. However there will always be more of a delay with streaming than traditional broadcasting due to the processing required.

Re: Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
Start by having a look at your TV's settings.
So called "motion smoothing" can actually cause as many issues as it solves as can other settings such as sharpness.
Confusingly different manufacturers name their processing differently.
A simple search for "best settings" for your particular model can work wonders, it did for me with my latest TV.
Time to have a fiddle, so many blame Sky when there are other avenues to explore.

Re: Sky Stream Picture not smooth when watching sports
I echo the above but it would also be good to get clarification on what you mean by "smooth". Is it cutting in and out, or does it look choppy like it has fewer frames per second than you'd expect, or something else?
