@Super+Anthony  Have you reported these issues when you have them, Sky can check at their end if there is an issue with your service, you've been advised of this more than once.

 

Not everyone has these issues therefore it is really difficult for Sky to pin down.   So you need to report it each time to Sky CS.

 

Or would you prefer we falselyy report we are having issues when we are not?

 

The time is 16:40 I am watching Sky F1 UHD with no picture issue or sound issues**.

 

**Video may take a few minutes to appear

I was a early adopter of  sky stream , 2023, so my pucks are  all V1

Just out if interest who us your broadband provider as I am on EE wondering if it's yet another issue with EE , there is a known issue  where the puck drops the Ethernet connection to the EE hub overnight or when it's off  , resolved strangely  by fitting  a switch between the hub and puck - the switch pings the hub so it stays alive .

Sky told me when I had virgin broadband that it wasn't something they could look into while I was on virgin so changed to sky 500 and still issues. To say report to sky CS is easy to say but to then spend the next 2 hours on the phone going through the script to get through to the right department. I've had a broadband engineer out before who told me to turn off UHD on my puck as that's what causes the issues. What's the point in having it then let's just all get IPTV

Both my pucks are V1.

I do mainly watch on my main TV puck, but also have in last few weeks when occasionally watching on the bedroom puck that  also does not suffer from this problem.

 

As we have already mentioned on here on previous threads about the V2 type puck.

It is not a Gen2 puck, like the Sky Glass TV is an upgrade in specs to the Gen1 TV.

There is no expected performance difference to the current puck.

No mentions from Sky made about any cooling differences.

All we have determined is it's just a similar chipset from another supplier. Something many hardware manufacturers do to help steady supply chains.

The power plug is the only noticeable change, being a slightly thinner factor design.

You cannot request one as a replacement for your current puck and as far as we have been told there is no plan for any replacement of a current puck with this one.

At the moment, new customers will be sent one or the other

@GD1 I report it all the time. Also there are plenty of others on this chat and numerous other ones that have issues. Sooner Sky take more ownership and do something the better, am getting rather bored complaning about the same issues

@Super+Anthony  So are you calling Sky each time this is happening as that is the way of reporting it?

I am emailing them most of the time. To be fair I am hoping Sky sort these issues out and then we can stop contacting the team. Sooner they fix it, the sooner they wont hear from several customers who are having issues , especially on Channel 922

As already explained it's going to be difficult to pin down if some customers say they are having issues while others are not.

 

Sky will know if it's a broadcast issue long before anyone else notices as explained a few times previously.
