I have just subscribed to Sky and bought 4 pucks. Has anyone got a definitive answer to what you can get to replace the power lead and plug on a Sky Puck? I can't believe Sky were so stupid as to design a plug that is too big to fit behind a wall-mounted tv where the plug sockets are. Do they think we are happy with wires dangling all over the wall?
Thanks

Mounting any wifi based unit behind a TV is not recommended the puck is designed to be placed horizontally in the open with a feed byva HDMI cable. The cables can be hidden if you so wish.

If you choose to do so, then there's a suggestion in this post:

Chrisee - Who said I was mounting the puck behind the tv? I am not. The puck itself will be located just below the tv so it has uninterrupted reception of the wifi. Just the wires will be tucked behind the tv because I dont want wires trailing all over the walls down to a plug socket near the skirting board. There is a double socket in the wall behind the tv. One is for the power plug for the tv. The other is for the power plug to the puck, except it sticks out too far. So my question still stands.
Timothy - thanks for the link. I dont understand what loaning them or not has got to do with using a different power plug and lead with the appropriate voltage etc. If I ever sent them back they would get the original leads with them.

Find out more@Amys+dad your use case is not one Sky anticipated as I explained the puck is designed to stand below or away from the TV linked by a HDMI cable. While you might find a USB charger and a suitable USB to a barrel connector with the correct dimensions it isnt going to be easy.

My advice send them back.
My Apple TV sits neatly in a bracket behind my TV, never any wifi issues. But there again the Apple RV is a high spec piece of kit a puck is not.
Also, calculate your subscription charges buying as you watch appised to Sky bundles and you'll safe money too.

Its not the same service which is why I would never consider Apple TV as a replacement to Sky Stream.

You are right they offer viewing in a different method but all on Sky is generally on Apple, actually in some cases there are options on Apple not on Sky. If you've not looked at Apple in the last 6 months it has changed 19 fold especially with the amazing TV launcher.
@Fothergill1HI just popped in for a mate who is giving issues and more or less read issues today remain more or less the same as I experienced.
How is Playlist and Continue watching these days?

@Fothergill1 Oh 😒
Well soon be September it will be a full year that Sky acknowledged the flaws and were looking into a fix. A toast should be in order 😂.
My mate having issues with playback and stuttering causing lipsync Problems too. All hard wired etc. etc. but remains the same. I think puck is faulty.
I'm rurning IOS 17 beta on one of my Apple TV units, very stable must say and the new graphics look nice and fresh. I never really rated Apple but it would take a massive reason to switch now.

Find out more@Gincap To be fair my Glass TV experience is still pretty solid with very few anomalies and those I do get are usually resolved with a quick reboot. However, I do sometimes wonder it I should just go to ATV. What holds me back is being stuck with a Glass TV which has very little resale value. Also, living in Jersey I would have a limited pool of interested parties.
I have just checked and my ATV is on 16.5 so have 17 to look forward to 😀

Well one compensation is you are in a beautiful part of the country. You are right once you cancel all subscriptions the TV is basically a monitor, Sky don't even update the splash screen which seems crazy as I thought they'd promotd to entice you back but nope.
Now that you can generate a Playlist in TV launcher and Apple's Up Next that never fails, then you have everything Sky tried to do.
TVOS 17 has some nice tweaks and of course introduced facetime too that works with your iPhone, no extra kit or monthly fees.
