Sky Puc, Toshiba 4K tv and sound bar.
I am sorry if this is a bit much to ask, I have had a Puc for a couple of weeks and am calling Sky help nearly every day because it hardly ever switches on in the morning.
I have a Denon AVR, quite old so no 4K/UHD pass through. Maybe this is the problem.
If I connect the HDMI from the Puc directly to my tv, which is maybe a year old and use an optical/SPDIF from my tv to a sound bar, will this work?
Many thanks in advance.
Tony.

Yes connect your puck directly to your TV's hdmi port via hdmi cable and that should sort it out. If you want to use your receiver you will need to set the puck to 1080p only due to the receiver not supporting 4K @Tony1902

Re: Sky Puc, Toshiba 4K tv and sound bar.
I tried to connect the Puc to my tv directly, hdmi. I had picture but no sound.
But since then while I was watching a Netflix film after reconnecting to my Denon, the puc just went off. Not been able to get it going again. Did everything I did during the phone calls.
I guess another call to Sky help tomorrow.
Still not sure about the sound bar set up. Not sure whether to buy one or not yet.
Tony.

How do I cancel Sky Stream? Had more than enough now. been offered a third puc. I can't see anywhere on the website that enables a cancellation.

You need to check what the sound settings on the puck are set to.

Re: Sky Puc, Toshiba 4K tv and sound bar.
@Tony1902 If you're using an optical connection from your TV to your older Denon AVR, set the sound output format on the puck to Dolby Digital (not Dolby Digital Plus, Auto or Passthrough). The optical connection can only pass PCM stereo, Dolby Digital and DTS - Sky Stream uses Dolby Digital Plus by default for audio, which despite the similar name is not compatible with the older Dolby Digital standard.
HDMI connected devices can negotiate with one another as to what audio formats are supported. Optical connections are unable to do this, so your Sky puck will have no idea that your audio device (your Denon AVR) is connected via optical, so will not know to 'step down' to the supported Dolby Digital standard.
