Connect the small box you have been sent (a Sky Stream puck) to your TV using the supplied HDMI cable. Fit the cable into the HDMI socket on the puck and the other end into an HDMI socket on your TV.
Connect the power supply to the puck and turn it on at the wall.
Turn on your TV and use your normal TV remote control to select the HDMI input that you have connected the puck to.
Check to see that the puck is receiving power and has a small white light on the front. If it does then you should see further instructions on your TV screen which will enable you to connect the Sky Stream remote control and carry on from there.
Be aware that you need to have a fast and stable broadband connection already in place and receivable by the Sky Stream puck otherwise you will not receive any TV service. Sky Stream relies entirely on you having fast and stable broadband in order to function.

Re: Signed up for SKY TV but not able to connect. Set top box lights up, then flashes then goes off,
Thanks for the reply.
No engineer came. I got a remote and the sky box in the mail. The first remote was defective and I had to get another but still not seem to get it working. I was not given the option of an engineer fitting, it is not easy to do when you are not from the generation when everything is this way.
Do you think I should try to contact them to get it replaced?

Are you sure this is Sky Q (where you've posted)? Do you have Sky Stream?

Re: Signed up for SKY TV but not able to connect. Set top box lights up, then flashes then goes off,
Thanks for the reply. I signed up for SKY TV, I am not sure of the differences, I was sent a box and a remote in the mail and have tried to hook everything up. As I mentioned though, it does not seem to work so I am stumped. I tried to ask the Remote Assistant as that seemed the only help available from SKY but just got a lot of nonesense answers that did not address my issue. That seems all the help that SKY offer as they referred me to this community as the way to get issues resolved.

Re: Signed up for SKY TV but not able to connect. Set top box lights up, then flashes then goes off,
It has branding all over the site where you sign up* that says Sky Stream, not just Sky TV and given the fact that Q is quite well hidden these days, and no engineer came to install a satellite dish or connect you to a communal dish system I suspect you're almost certainly on Stream. Small box about 6inches square?
Have you been able to connect it to your wifi?
(someone will probably move this thread into the Stream forum soon)
* unless you signed up in person at one of those popup booths?
