I have exactly the same problem with exactly the symptoms you described. I am also feeding PMC Stereo to my DAC (which is not surround) and this worked flawlessly for a decade with SkyHD and workd fine with Strem untill last month.
What fixed it for me is resetting Audio Delay to 0. Luckily I don't suffer from much audio delay so I just left it at that for now.

OK I'm not going to be able to help you without more details and your seemingly uncooperative attitude. All I can say is I hope that particular problem gets resolved for you as well as the lip sync issue on digital surround modes that I and many others are facing.
I'm not being unhelpful, just factual. Changing to PCM stereo made no difference.
I have some additional information however - removing the delay makes the commentary come back and the sound as loud and clear as it used to be.
When you said i'it didn't' before do you mean you changed/checked the Audio settings on your TV not the puck like I suggested?
And for the info you've just given do you mean you had the audio delay set on the puck?
Ive actually just turned my puck on today and seen it's been updated to QS022.009.00P. So I'm going to have a play tonight and see if anything's changed or been fixed.

Fingers crossed the new update fixes the issue!

Ok I've not changed the audio delay since the lip sync problem started as I've left it on 0ms because the problem has been that in a bitstream audio output there was audio delay even on 0ms.
So to try and replicate the issue you two have raised I've switched to PCM Stereo and turned on sky news. Audio fine. Now with that playing in the background I've gone back to settings and changed audio delay from 0ms to any other delay number and all sound (for sky news talking) has gone. And sure enough if I switch it back to 0ms the sound comes back.
Now Interestingly if you change the audio output to Dolby digital for instance and then change the audio delay from 0ms to whatever delay you want for instance 40ms, then go back and change the audio to PCM Stereo the sound is fine with that audio delay still set. Then if you change the audio delay to any other number other than 0ms it's still ok (though I'm not really hearing the change in audio, the slight blip you normally get when altering lip synch. So not sure If the delay setting is actually doing anything in PCM Stereo). If you change it to 0ms though now the audio has gone. So it's now the reverse of previous behaviour. To get it to go back to that previous behaviour with the sound ok on 0ms delay you have to again change the audio output to Dolby Digital and then change the audio delay to 0ms. Then change back to PCM Stereo and the Audio is back again on 0ms delay. Phew! Hope this makes some sort of sense to everyone. Obviously what it means is there's something wrong happening for PCM Stereo when altering audio delay.

Regarding my original OP issue with audio sync issues being introduced on bitstream audio outputs (meaning anything but PCM Stereo) with software build QS021.xxx.xxx. - initial impressions are that things are improved on QS022.009.00P. I've done my usual test with sky news talking and the snooker that's currently on Eurosport 2. The sound of the cue ball being hit and the balls clicking together is better in sync than it was. Not perfect but better. Still a very slight delay with HDMI Audio delay set to 0ms on the puck. Still not as perfect as the Audio video sync with it set to PCM Stereo.

The symptoms like missing commenrary on SkySports Ed.B. described or in my case not hearing voice avtors in movies, but still hearing background noises etc. was only evident when stream had surround sound. programs that are only available for stereo work fine.

Right yep understand. Interesting. Seems dialogue is isolated somehow and so the audio delay feature that isn't working properly on PCM stereo is muting rather than just delaying that dialogue channel. Maybe the surround audio gets down sampled before being output as PCM Stereo channels and it's not including what was the centre channel.

Bump for this. Thought it was my internet or something as we have just moved house. Exactly the same problem as a lot of you guys. When you initially turn on the puck the sound is fine (I have puck set to pass through and tv to Dolby digital). Over time the lip sync slowly drifts and gets worse and worse to the point it's actually unwatchable. What I have noticed is if you set the TV or Puck to PCM, then go back to original setting, the lip sync is ok for a little while then slowly drifts out again. Why do the updates get worse and worse 🤣

Quoting myself here. Still on the same latest QS022.009.00P software update as mentioned above where I felt lip sync in bitstream audio was finally improved. Until yesterday I had the same impression but it's terrible tonight watching sky news with puck set to Dolby Digital. Also snooker on Eurosport is badly out of sync again so it's not just one channel. Set to PCM Stereo of course and alls fine. So something else seems to be going on outside of puck software updates I think.
Again just to highlight this is the audio already being delayed with audio delay set to 0ms so not fixable with this setting option.

Yeah I have to have mine on passthrough still off its unwatchable.
31 Oct 2023 09:20 PM
Same here! Sky let me cancel my contract yesterday.
31 Oct 2023 09:23 PM
I'm also thinking of cancelling. The puck isn't fit for purpose and every update they do it gets worse. It's not like its cheap either....

Just turned on the sky stream box and the lip sync is even worse. Checked to see if there had been another update and suprise suprise there was!
Everytime theres an update the audio gets worse 😭

Update: still says software is updating but now there is no lip sync problem when in passthrough mode. Auto and Dolby digital still have issues though.

I have mine on passthrough but lip sync seems to vary on a day to day basis. Sometimes it's fine, other days it's a few frames out, some days as much as a second out.
A full reboot usually kicks it back into sync but we shouldn't have to do that every day.
