I am repeatedly getting these same issues as you and have a very similar setup. 

I have to reboot the pick several times a day, it's beyond a joke.

One thing to try, make sure you are exiting apps properly and not just pressing the home button to exit them. When in an app keep press the back button, that will either eventually take you to the app's home page and then exit the app back to the Sky Stream Home screen, or it will bring up a prompt asking you  if you want to exit.
