I have a sky stream puck in a cupboard beneath tv (12mm mdf)
Once the puck is on -I can control it via bluetooth with the door closed ( change channel, home, voice, turn off and immediately back on) so bluetooth is working fine.
Problem comes when trying to wake up from a deep sleep ( overnight or several hours off). Remote will not wake up puck by pressing home bitton unless the door is open. Network standby is ON and Power saver is OFF.
I have spoken to support who have confirmed that waking up from "deep sleep" requires line of sight between puck and remote and "deep sleep" is a mode the puck goes into even if power saver is off
This implies waking from "deep sleep" uses Infrared rather than bluetooth, am i correct?
I see other have used Wake on lan packets to keep their puck awake but this no longer works. Only workaround I can see is to buy a small IR extender (£6.99 on Amazon). Will report back once Ive tried

Re: Puck in cupboard wont turn after deep sleep
You could use a wifi smart plug, so allow the puck to go into deep sleep, but just do a smart plug power off and on sequence when you need to start it up.
The powering on in that sequence will start up the Sky Stream puck.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.
My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q. Click here to read
