Playlist which channels are covered?

Hey all,

thinking of moving to the Sky Puck getting the Essentials package. What I'm struggling to understand is -

does the Playlist option work like catch up

and does it include the sky channels within Essentials?

So, if there was a series on Atlantic I liked, do I just add it to Playlist and its now just there like catchup, I can watch all eps when I want (assuming the series has fully broadcast of course)? For example are all the shows on Atlantic or Arts etc searchable on Puck and I put them in Playlist and build my own mini streaming library as it were?

I've used NowTV Entertainment in the past, so I'm imagining it being like that - catch up and live channels but from what I've seen from YT vids and reviews, it's more like an old-school PVR thing but they're saved in the cloud for a time.

I know how other streaming services work, like NF or iPlayer but confused about how Puck works in terms of how I access the content outside of live TV and if all content on the channels within Essential are availble as catch up - Basically, I rarely watch live tv so if some Sky channels/content aren't available or won't stay accessable for long, not sure it's for me and I'll get NowTV again. (I'm looking at it as the cost of Essentials is less than NowTV at the mo)

Thanks all for any advice.

Save me rewriting something.

Ive copied over to here something I wrote on here a while ago that kind of sums it all up.

For Sky Sports content, except their Tennis coverage ( a rights issue) anything you add to Playlist will cloud record.

Tennis coverage on Sky Sports does offer some On demand full match replays and highlights, but not a full listing.

The cloud recordings for all other Sky Sports content generally sit in your playlist for a week to two weeks and will then changeover to an On Demand version or a highlights version.

The On demand version will not sit there forever.

Playlisting TV series on Sky own channels, will supply their On Demand. The same On demand offerings as you see on Sky Q.

Playlisting of TV series for the five terrestrial channels will use their own On demand via their apps. Sky Stream is pretty seamless working with the apps, and one of the good points of Sky Stream.
One exception is that some C5 content is cloud recorded (that is content generally not available within their app) and plays out as a cloud recording using Sky Stream play options fine.

Some Channels that do not have any On demand/app, like Great TV, Legend, also as above create a cloud recording.

One thing, cloud recordings do not sit there forever and sometimes can be just a few weeks.

But the playlist by design is great showing anything playlisted offered somewhere else, whether it be next on, via a free or pay app etc.

I playlist Golf, Cricket, PL, EFL, F1, Indycar and many of the TV channels I mentioned above

The cloud recordings above have worked fine during my 18 or so months of having Sky Stream.

Would suggest getting the ad skipping feature, as not having that can cause some slight repetitive issues/ annoyances when viewing back or coming in late on a live recording.

You can cancel the ad skipping after first month easily in your Mysky and then are offered a two month free offer to use, once again cancelling during that second month, leaving for a day and the offer is offered again in MySky.

Re: Playlist which channels are covered?

That's great, really clear and helpful, I understand Stream a lot better - you explained it better than Sky's own descriptions! Thanks!
