I’m a new customer and several times paused live tv has dropped internet connection (Ethernet connection)

Not seen this issue reported before. Something to try. Make sure WiFi is off in network settings (if on turn it off and reboot the puck) as connecting ethernet doesn't automatically disabled the WiFi and the puck will try to connect via WiFi even when the cable is connected.
The other thing to turn on is "network standby mode" while this shouldn't apply on pause may help. Forces the puck to keep internet connection alive when in standby.
