Pause a show for short period and forced to watch ads again

Why when I pause a show for a few minutes and return am I forced to watch ads I just watched again.

I am paying for a service which I accept has ads at the beginning and middle of the program but if I just watched the ads why do I need to watch them again just because I left the tv for 5 mins.

same thing happens if I go to continue watching a program a day later.

this is making me consider cancelling my subscription as there is more ads than content currently.

Are ads or promos being rerun?

@Mscott2
Do you have the ad skipping (fast forwarding) add-on? It's normally available free via the MySky App for a few months at a time.
It's a pain and I suffered the exact same issue as you're experiencing until I took the ad skipping add-on (for free) which then resolved the pausing/same ads again issue.
