No UHD feed for second half of old firm today?

"Switch over to Sky Sports Football to continue watching".

But where is the UHD feed? The only pop up is to watch from the start.

Yet my mate watching on Now TV continues to get the game in UHD on "Sky Sports Football UHD".

Are we being short changed as usual on Sky Stream?

Now TV does have Ultra Boost which for an addition charge upscales the picture to UHD.  This is not available on Sky Stream which is strange as Now TV is owned by Sky.  I do feel that more UHD channels should be made more available particularly as modern tvs now all support that format.

Ultra Boost on NOW doesn't upscale HD content to UHD, it just gives access to native UHD on demand content and the live UHD Sports channels, the same as what the UHD/Atmos add-on gives on Sky Stream.

The standard Boost option on NOW gives access to native 1080P (rather than the standard 720P) which a users 4K TV will upscale to 2160P, the NOW app itself does no upscaling.

"With Ultra Boost, you can also enjoy 4 live UHD sports channels (Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports F1, plus 2 ad-hoc channels, Sky Sports UHD 1 & 2)"

My point is that my mate watched the second half on the "Sky Sports UHD 2" channel, which the channel logo said was "Sky Sports Football UHD" on Now TV, but I had no way to get the UHD feed on Sky Stream this afternoon.

The normal SS Football didn't offer it by way of the popup menu and going through the sports icon route only offered the HD coverage.

Pretty poor for my money.

Yeah, that would annoy me too... part of the reason why I ditched Sky Stream and use NOW instead now.

Re: No UHD feed for second half of old firm today?

I was flicking through the footy channels earlier today, but of course never compared with Stream, which I also have for a couple more months.

I am ditching Stream when my contract is up.... With Now (Sports + Ultra Boost) I only pay £26 (ie £20 Sports + £6 Ultra Boost till Feb 2026) like @BenJoBanjo

I don't like long contracts and Now is cheaper and with Ultra Boost you can watch on 4 devices at the same time.

Sky Stream
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices

Re: No UHD feed for second half of old firm today?

Sky decided that the game was so bad that they wouldn't pay for the UHD bandwidth for the second half, LOL!
