If you can, take it downstairs and connect it to your broadband router with an ethernet cable to allow the software update to complete. The pucks are unfortunately notorious for failing to complete a software update over WiFi when first activated. They're normally OK on WiFi after they've been updated.

Hi @LauraWright and welcome to the forum.  I see @BenJoBanjo has given you something to try and will hopefully resolve your issue.
