Moving home and switching from Sky Q to Sky Stream

We are currently under contract with Sky Q but due to move shortly where we can't want a dish on the house. Will Sky allow us to close our account or do they switch us to Sky Stream instead? If so, what is the process involved regarding contracts/packages etc. We currently only have the £15 essentials package with Sky Q.

Thanks.

You can move to streaming  but please  know that when you do and as soon as you activate  your  stream you will have two bills to pay as the sky q  will stop as soon  as you activate  the stream you will your  last sky q  bill for that month and you'll  stream bill aswell  for that month

They will only allow you to close your account if you pay any early termination fee for ending your contract early (if applicable).

I am aware of Sky allowing a switch to Stream or Glass for Q customers, but you will need to call to check the latest.

Re: Moving home and switching from Sky Q to Sky Stream

Hi Similar situation to the OP looking for some advice please

we are on Sky Signature with Sky Q and sat dish (contract expires mid September ) but best offer they will give is £28 pm  which we cant now afford as having to downsize house and move at the end of August

been offered Essentials  for £15

However the room in the house we are moving to  that  has  all the wall Sky connections cannot be used for about 4-5 months due to work going on in there   but we  have a  tv  terrestial aerial point in bedroom ( no sky connections )

Braodband is Talk Talk part fibre 37mb  download  ( new contarct taken out this June for 2 yrs)

Two questions  hope someone can advise

Would / can Essentials be used via Satellite dish or is it compulsarory Streaming via broadband ?

If can be used via Satellite dish and we leave the Sky Q box in the room with Sky wall connections  i seem to recall seeing someone who had a small receiver box in their bedroom that picked up the Sky signal from the main receiver box in their loungs  adn allowed them to watch in the bedroom   what was that box called ?

Sorry for teh numpty questions but this is all a bit techy for me

thanks all for any replies / help

You can get Sky Q Essentials which is the basic free-to-air channels received via satellite dish and a Sky Q box. If you want to view this in another room, you'd need to add the multiscreen subscription at additional cost which would supply you with a Sky Q minibox. This minibox receives the signal wirelessly from your main Q box and does not require the satellite connections.

The alternative would be to switch to Sky Stream Essential TV which is Sky's fully streamed service which does not require a satellite connection but relies entirely on your broadband. Your 37Mbps speed is not particularly good for Sky Stream though and it may struggle to give you a reliable service.
