A month or so before purchasing Sky broadband/Stream, I purchased 12month subscriptions to NOW TV sports package and NOW TV Ents, for which I pay £28 and £4.99 respectively.
At the time I was unaware I would soon be purchasing broadband/TV etc. with Sky or of course I would have not entered into these contracts., but hey ho.
As I now have Sky Essential TV there seems little point retaining & paying for NOW TV Ents - I appreciate I am partway through a 12month contract.
Similarly, I would rather watch my sports package through Sky rather than logging into NOW TV through my smart TV. Is it possible to cancel both my NOW TV packages (£32.99 combined) and instead be charged for Sky Sports on a rolling £33 per month charge?
Has anyone else been able to achieve this?
When I contact NOW I'm told to contact Sky and vice versa and I'm readily losing patience.

No penalty. I explained that I was moving to Sky and that Sky informed me I could cancel now as I was taking a Sky subscription I offered Now my new Sky contract number but they didn't want that they just cancelled Now there and then it went off air during the call so anything I paid for that month was lost but as for contract penalties etc nothing to pay. The chat took around 20 minutes and it was never an issue.
So good luck and I hope you have no issues.

Re: Moving existing NOW TV packages to Sky
My situation was very similar, I contacted NOW via online chat explaining the switch to Sky and thy cancelled my contract with immediate effect, the service was actually ended before the end of the phone call.
So yes they do cancel existing long contracts when switching.

You can't switch a NOW subscription to Sky. They are entirely separate billing systems,
You can try contacting NOW on live chat & saying the subs were purchased in error but they are under no obligation to let you end the contract early.

Re: Moving existing NOW TV packages to Sky
Hi Gincap. Did they not say you had to pay off your remaining NOW contract/s? That's what the first NOW agent advised me. If you had success I'll try NOW again. I've been going around in circles!

Good to know. 👍
It's a sensible thing for them to do too. They'll make more money from someone locked into a 24 month Sky contract than they will from someone on a 12 month NOW deal. They also much prefer people to be on Sky hardware so they can get more viewing habit information across multiple platforms in order to sell more advertising space.
Could also be a way out for anyone on a 12 month NOW deal who wants to leave early - just tell them you're moving to Sky. If they're not checking account numbers and allowing penalty-free cancellation, then it's a win for the customer.

Re: Moving existing NOW TV packages to Sky
I switched to the Sky full fibre broadband, phone and essential tv package including sports and netflix in June but NOW only cancelled my broadband contract but continued to bill me for Sky Sports and Boost until october. I have asked both Sky and NOW to resolve this £165 duplicate over payment but neither accept responsibility! I sent all supporting documents, call transcripts etc to Sky but received the following 'no-reply' message:
"We have received your details to claim Sky Switch Credit. However you have not been charged ETC's from your previous provider, therefore no switch credit due on this account.
Kind regards,
Sky Switch Team
NoReply"
What can I do now?

One-touch-switch only covers broadband, not subscription television (even when both ISPs are also television providers: that's Sky, Now, Virgin and BT/EE)

See above.

That's correct: monthly billing for an ongoing subscription is not an Early Termination Charge.

Re: Moving existing NOW TV packages to Sky
If you believe you specifically instructed Now to cancel your television service (outside the broadband switch) then your dispute is with them, and nothing to do with 'Sky' unless you feel you were misled about the process..

Re: Moving existing NOW TV packages to Sky
Are you sure you didn't sign up for a 6 or 12 month minimum term on a NOW subscription? They offer cheaper deals for those that sign up for longer, but they do hold you to the minimum term so even if you cancel 3 months into a 6 month subscription, you'll still be billed for the remaining three months.
