I think we all know that. Doesn't alter the fact Q is better than glass or stream.

@Fidel+59 @I think it not so much which is better, it is what we want out of them. In my case I definitely prefer Stream and wouldn't go back to SkyQ but respect that Q has things that others prefer.

Agreed - I always preferred the streaming platform over the satellite one as it better reflects how I have been consuming content over the last 5 years, which aside from live sport has been via VOD for all other content.

@Stephen+Mourton I moved to the streaming platform in July 2022 as I lost access to a satellite dish for Sky Q.  There was a bit of a learning curve but I soon got used to the convenience of streaming rather than having to wait to record a programme.  Since then I have moved and again have access to a dish but I have not even considered returning to Sky Q.

Streaming is not for everyone but personally I prefer it to Sky Q. I occasionally have to reboot my stream puck but then I had to do the same with SKy Q from time to time.

The premise of your question is wrong. Sky Stream is not an upgrade from SkyQ.

I don't believe anyone here has ever said that. It's usually a question asked by peeps looking to join Stream without realising it isn't an upgrade, just a different way to consume Sky TV.

I think you've misunderstood my comment. The OP asked the question believing it was an upgrade, but no regular contributers here ever said it was.

That is the header the to the question asked by the OP. That was his interpretation moving to Stream, which was followed  by regulars here pointing out it isn't an upgrade.

Re: Is the upgrade from Sky Q to Sky Stream Worth it?

I had Sky HD+ piped all round my house. I had 3x Sky HD+ Boxes in different rooms, all connected to a distribution box in the loft and then spit back down to 5 TVs in different rooms. It was set up really well and worked perfectly. I couldn't get the same setup with Q and ended up going with 5 Sky Stream pucks. It took a few months getting used to but after a few months I've got to say it works pretty well.

I can have a different Disney film on in all the min rooms (Grandchildren) and still be watching MotoGP in another. I have on in a bedroom that is not normally used, but other than the £39.99 itdoesn't cost anymore as I all ready pay for multi-room.

The big thing I was worried about was not being able to "record" Motorcycle Racig that is on in the middle of night and watch it in the morning, but this has mostly not been a problem.

Upsides to me:

1. Picture quality and sound is very good.

2. It's got a modern feel to it.

3. For me, it has been very reliable with no real problems. Maybe the odd restart, but thats not very often nowadays.

Down sides to me:

1. If I put something on in the TV room, I can't watch the same instance of it anywhere else, so for example if I put something I have recorded (yeah, still use that word even though its wrong) like MotoGP and walk out to the kitchen to make a coffee, I can't watch exactly the same thing from the same point. If it is Live then you can.

2. You cant permantly record, so if you want all of the Matrix Films, for example, they eventually drop out of your list and you have to find them again - sometimes by then they become pay for films.

3. You can't take it on holiday, like you can a Firestick for example.
